New show, starting on the lawn

This show is entitled "Contact 2016 Foreign and Familiar" at the Museum Art School.  It explores the theme of contact as it relates to the Hawaiian Islands, its people, and their experiences.  As you can imagine, it is thought provoking, imaginative, and totally diverse.
This work is named "Ho'okupa'a".  It is a group of standing stones (ku'ula)  placed in an enclave formation to evoke a dialogue.
What drew my eye even more than the delicious painting pegged around the tall wooden column, is the three dimensional column of square concrete blocks, transformed with just a little paint.
Show runs thru April 17th.  Definitely worth more visits before it goes.
