Bird Rescue at Key Largo

I've slipped behind with my blipping. Combination of enjoying myself in the Florida Keys and lack of internet access.

This is a picture of a Brown Pelican having a bath at this  marvellous facility where they look after rescued birds.  Left a donation to help their important work. One thing I found amazing was that so may  of the birds released back into the wild return every so often for a feed.

Unfortunately they don't all have a happy outcome and some of them become long term residents because they can't be safely released. Typically its due to blindness in one or both eyes or broken wings.  The Extra tells the story of one of the resident owls.
