tree number 14

Well now, this is embarrassing.  

Today is the first time since I started this series that I’ve actually got up close and personal with the tree.  I’ve always assumed it to be a Beech.  But the trunk looks nothing like it (see extra).  And it looks decidedly top heavy.  

I’m just going to have to go back again when the leaves are out.  Unless a passing Arborist is able to enlighten me.
