Sunbeams

Portland

Today was the interment of a very old friend, the mother of a family of six children.  I had known them all since I was eight years old so  M was very much part of my life as were certain of her children.  The eldest is now 70 and the only son with five sisters!

Afterwards we had a cup of tea at cafe at  the National Sailing Academy and this is the view from the front, the old Naval base in Portland with the former underground Verne Prison above in the hill.  Apparently the prison has now converted into a Immigration Removal Centre. Nearby there is a Jailhouse Cafe which continues to be run by prisoners.
