Narcissus Poeticus 'Pheasant's Eye'

A real spring day. Tulips just coming into flower and my favourite narcissus, the scented Pheasant's Eye at its best.

I was looking out of the window this morning as a handsome  cock pheasant crossed the lawn, the burnished gold of his wing feathers catching the light and the scarlet wattles standing out fiercely around his eyes and neck. Our cat Billy was crouched in the long grass watching him too and for a moment I thought he was going to mount an attack... but the bird stared at him proudly, and Billy stayed put.
