A rare bit of calm in amongst the storm tonight as it's film night.

1st Film: A perfect Day

A well shot film, good acting and a totally brilliant soundtrack but it lacked any real meaning. Yes is was about the struggle in conflict zones from the side of aid workers and innocent victims affected by war, but it failed to create a strong empathy for the characters and I don't know why.
6/10, it could have been more if it grabbed me and shook me to the core.

Film 2: The Finest Hours

A film you probably shouldn't watch when about to embark on a cruise. The true story of heroes rescuing the crewmen of a stricken ship. A very well made film with a big budget and Casey Affleck and Chris Pine did a sterling job. 7/10.
