HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MR. HCB!

It being Flower Friday, I did ask Mr HCB if he would be my Blip and hold a daffodil between his teeth but his comment was “Oh no!  I draw the line at that, even if it is my birthday! "

Our first telephone call this morning was at 8.00 a.m. from Son Number 2 who lives in Thailand - and after he had chatted with his Dad about football, we had a chat and then he and I sang “Happy Birthday” although he was a few notes behind, obviously because of the time lag on the phone - I think Mr. HCB was suitably impressed!

We went out to Marlborough this morning to our favourite coffee shop, The Food Gallery - and not just because Mr. HCB got a free pot of tea and cake as it was his birthday - please note the "posh" tea pot and cup!  Amazing food and service, as always, and I even sneaked in a special Post-it Note.

So here is a birthday collage - Mr. HCB is wearing his new hat - and not just any old hat but a new Tilley hat - a birthday present especially for the new cricket season that starts next Monday - when I will be relegated to position Number 3 - you may recall, from now until at least September, it is (1) Cricket  (2) Garden  (3) Me!

We wandered around a little before the rain came down and found this little garden at the end of an alleyway, of which there are plenty in Marlborough, and we had intended driving back “over the downs” but as it was raining so hard, we decided to come straight home - where does all the rain come from?

We are out tonight with Son Number 1 and his family for an Italian meal, so that should round off the day nicely.

So here is my advice today to Mr. HCB:

Keep calm and be crazy - as we always are -
laugh, love and live it up,
because this is the oldest you’ve been
and the youngest you’ll ever be again!

Love and Hugs from Mrs. HCB xxx
