The Lozarithm Lens

Calne (Monday 18th April 2016)

On my way back from Chippenham (see Extra for willows by the river Avon) I stopped on Black Dog Hill near the Millennium Bridge to check on wildlife at the Marden. I got there via the cycle path along the former railway line, where these wild primroses grow. The river is at the far side of the field on the right.

Along this stretch of the river I've seen kingfishers, dippers, egrets, swans, wagtails, long-tailed tits, buzzards, mallards and other birds. On this day I saw none of these things, unfortunately. There have been signs of the dippers this year but recent high waters have washed away any recent evidence from the stones above the water level. I did see one small bird in the distance that might have been a goldcrest or a wren...

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
DJ Stingray 313 - Lurker (2016)
One purpose of my trip to Chippenham was to get a copy of The Wire magazine with its cover CD Wire Tapper 40. This is track one on that CD, the only one from it that I have been able to find on You Tube, and not really representative of the CD as a whole.
