Abergavenny Market

Oh, the hours Mrs. P and I spent in this place 25 years ago. We are still using a spade we bought here!

It's as busy as we recalled it, with the same variety of goods on sale. And gthe market traders' banter is still worth a listen to and raises a smile.

Afterwards we had a drive to a place called Puzzle Wood, which was visited by JR Tolkein and is said to have inspired his writing.

Very muddy underfoot and stunning scenery at every turn

Later we went up to Symond's Yat Rock, where they filmed scenes from one of the Harry Potter films. More amazing views and the RSPB also have telescopes trained on a peregrine falcon, and a kingfisher. We had never seen either, but we have now and beautiful they were too.

10/10 for Adam for choosing the wood and the rock today.

The weather is being very kind to us. Raining at night and sunny days.

As we looked out of the log cabin in the early evening a family of fallow dear wandered past.
