Moncrieffe Hill, Perth

Treated to lunch at the McMillan Coffee Shop in Perth, where we were greeted by a full size cut-out model of Her Majesty, so I gave her a curtsey and wished her Happy Birthday:-)

Later we decided to go for a walk up Moncrieffe Hill in the hope of seeing the wildflower meadow planted a few years ago.  However, it must be nearer the other approach as we saw no sign of it.  It was a lovely, warm and sunny day with a gentle breeze, so just perfect for such a walk.  The photo is the view over Perth from about half way up.

There are two Pictish hill forts, one on the top and one further down, but you need to use a lot of imagination to picture them as they once were!  Lots of nice carved rocks and wooden creatures on the Sculpture Trail, but I specially liked the pair in my Extra.

Everything aches now, so I'm off to have a soak in a hot bath.  Not a very high hill, though steep in places, but when I haven't climbed anything more than a flight of stairs all winter, it shows!
