Slow Worm

Today I went to a Butterfly Training day in preparation for doing some surveying on Llanymynech Rocks Nature Reserve.

The morning was a presentation about the different butterflies on the site. It was very interesting though I shall have to do homework as there was a lot of information to remember.

This afternoon was a walk to spot some of the butterflies that we'll be surveying. It was very cold and mostly cloudy so we saw very few butterflies but did see this beautiful slow worm (a legless lizard, not a snake). I managed to take it's photo before it disappeared down a hole in the ground.
