Life though my lens

Our First Fijian Sunset

After spending an amazing month in the states we flew from Hawaii to Fiji, on the way loosing an entire day of our lives as we crossed the international date line. The plane had to refuel in Samoa so we had a brief glimpse into the small island life, though as we had just flown for 5 hours overnight we slept through most of the small interval. Then with a roar of the refuelled plane it was off over the sea to Fiji. As the sun rose we were able to pick out small idyllic tropical islands below us that looked as though they were straight out of castaway. The plane landed and we had a short wait before catching a public bus to the southern coast and to our lovely accommodation for the next 5 days - the Fiji Beachouse. The beachouse was recommended to us by Stuart's sister Sarah, who had stayed while working in Fiji. With our huge backpacks on we managed to haul our way down a little dirt lane lined with palms before turning a corner and seeing the blue sea stretching out for miles and a small grouping of wooden buildings. We checked in to our little hut and retired to a hammock for the rest of the evening, taking in the stunning sunset over the quiet secluded beach.
