Life in Canada

St. Kateri Tekakwitha

Most of you know that I do slideshows - a lot of slideshows.  So when the opportunity arises, I seem to somehow 'volunteer' my time to create a new one.  This week, will be the official blessing of our school, St. Kateri Tekakwitha C.S.  It will officially be blessed on Wednesday which also happens to be my daughter's 18th birthday.  Could it be on a worse day?  Regardless, I have been working hard to go through the hundreds and hundreds of photos from this past school year to date, to do a year in review for the open house Wed. night.  This statue is in our front foyer and is actually quite stunning, as is our entire school which opened its doors in September.  For anyone interested in knowing more about our namesake, here is a link to more about our first Canadian, First Nations' saint....St. Kateri

Her headstone reads:
Kateri Tekakwitha
Ownkeonweke Katsitsiio Teonsitsianekaron
The fairest flower that ever bloomed among red men.

Have a wonderful start to the week!
