A day of.....

.........Ruined churches and orchids
This amazing ruin is Bedham church, which during it's life was also a school. Today it stands on a steep hillside on a wooded ledge  in among the trees, alone and lonely and a little sad. It is however a beautiful ruin, and one I have waited a few months to photograph so I could have the bluebells and freshly emerging leaves in the photo too.
On my way home, I noticed an amazing stand of Early purple orchid Orchis mascula growing on the verge right beside the road, they were really beautiful, and a very fitting start to the 2016 orchid season. I have added one as my extra, plus a picture of the  snow storm we had later approaching beyond a sunlit field of Oil seed rape
