Mt Cook under Starlight

After a bike ride from Mt Cook Station up to Tasman Point, camp was pitched alongside Lake Pukaki. The weather has been amazing, and the night sky was crystal clear. Mt Cook and Mt Sefton had a little light on them, probably from the still-to-rise moon, and seemed to be glowing in the far distance.

Anyone who was puzzled about the name I gave to the river bridge on the image I blipped on 20th April, you were right to be confused. It actually is the Rakaia River, and there are two bridges to cross - this is the southern one. Thanks for all the lovely comments about that image, and the stars and faves too!
