Les Irvine Memorial Relay

I took part in the Les Irvine Memorial Relay at work today. It's a 4 x 1.1 mile race starting and finishing in front of the Cricket Pavilion on the Open University campus in Milton Keynes. Running through snow and sunshine, it's safe to say that my team of colleagues from the Primary Education Department didn't pose too much of a threat to the leaders, but it was great fun although I can advise that even a 1.1 mile run can be troublesome if you go off too fast! Les Irvine joined the OU in 1973 as an early computing pioneer, and inspired many colleagues to take up running during his time at the University.
