Meadow walk

This afternoon turned out to be very smelly. The dogs, pristine and white having recently had a makeover at the local pooch parlour, had the whole Common to go at. However they had to find and enjoy the blackest most putrid puddle/pond EVER for miles around! We knew it was going to end badly when there was no stopping Poppy as she launched herself right in there, closely followed by Tilly - they loved it.

All this was a massive diversion from butterfly chasing on my part as they were hauled out totally covered in mud. We then had to put avoidance tactics into operation: no more snuggly cuddles whilst clicking away. I did manage to get this Meadow Brown on a lovely pink thistle flower, a few damselflies and a cricket which was a bit camera shy and whose 15 minutes will come soon enough - fingers crossed!!

The stench in the car was staggering on the drive home - it was ALL windows DOWN!

Got to say .......Simon is a bit smug ...... it was my car :(
