The Poplar Grove

Thirteen members of the walking group turned up at the meeting place, and we headed to Shortcut Road, and walked from there down the true right of the Clutha River to the Luggate Boulders.  The morning was gray with rain threatening, then after lunch wouldn't you know it, but the heavens opened and down came the rain.  We all got wet walking back to the cars, then headed to the local hotel for a hot drink and a warm up in front of the hot fire.  It has been raining all afternoon, which is great for the local gardeners.  I wonder if there will be fresh snow on the mountains?

This photo is of a member heading through the Poplar Grove.

My daughter has arrived back in Christchurch, she had a good trip through the Lindis and Mackenzie Country.
