Bright Lights, big city

Landed in New York.

We dropped off our bags at the totally lovely Library Hotel just around the corner to The main library and just around the corner from Grand Central Station.

Credit to Kath for organising a brilliant hotel location.

We headed on the Tube towards the tip of Manhattan so we could get aboard the Staten Island ferry as we knew this would give us a great view of the statue of liberty which we all wanted to see. A quick round trip really as there isn’t that much to see on the Island.

A casual walk onto ground zero and the New World Trade One Centre, I was taken back a bit by the beautiful fountains they have installed at the twin towers location. We visited the museum which was rather good and really quite moving.

Once we were finished at ground Zero, Claire and I decided to walk along the High Line which is an old disused railway line that runs a couple of stories up in the city which gives you a different perspective.

Last Extra ------->  Crazy sculpture installation on the High line which was scarily real looking.

A nice evening meal at a wonderful Italian restaurant to finish off a very busy first day in The Big Apple.

Extras ------>

A face thats been to a colourful event, New York sky line again, World trade one reflection and commuting on the subway. So many images to choose from today.
