Brave new world

Interesting conference this morning on autonomous cars. It was jointly organised by the Thatcham motor insurance research centre, the Association of British Insurers, and Volvo as one of the leading companies in driverless car research. It was very well attended by insurers, lawyers, motor executives and journalists. There were loads of questions about who will be deemed responsible if a driverless car is involved in an accident, and whether car insurance will still be needed when cars drive themselves. Not too many definitive answers yet though.
