Just because mom has to work selling produce in the streets doesn't mean her child gets to escape penmanship lessons. I passed these two intent on a writing lesson directly across the street from the back of the mercado. The boy was working hard to copy words from the book opened in front of him as mom looked on from above giving advice. Loved the makeshift desk and their sense of connection despite all the people swirling around them.
