Close encounters

Hard choice today but, on the basis that I'm hardly likely to eyeball a meadow pipit again, I've gone for this little fellow that hovered next to me for a good few seconds.

I was too late, unfortunately, for the cloud inversion that seemed to be hanging around first thing but enjoyed walking in shorts despite feeling a little bit like Twiglets in boots.

When the sun came out, the moors were alive with a wonderful variety of birds from the raptors to the little guys.

I've emptied some of the compost bin around the plants and then took a rare chill in the garden taking in some vitamin D.

Last week snow, this week bikini!
