The call came out for suncream...

... in May... in Cumbria... and happily Roy had some in his rucsac - was he a boy scout in a former life??
Elin & Sarah were doing the Fred Whitton - a bike ride of about 120 miles, taking in all the main passes in the Lake District. Mum and B saw them off, Dad supported near Braithwaite and we did the bit in the middle of nowhere near Cold Fell just north of Calder Bridge. Bananas, water and sun cream aboard, and painful shoes fettled, they set of for the last third of the ride in good spirits.
Mum and B found them again in Elterwater and they finished in Grasmere with a time of 9hours 19mins. Well done girls!
Meanwhile we had a lovely walk at St Bees head, followed by an ice cream ;)
