King Coal...

...a Yorkshire heritage... and now the only place to see the iconic pit head gear is at the National Coal Mining Museum near Wakefield.
The county's ( and country's ) mining heritage is preserved by the museum, and we have even had a visit down the pit - guided by a very knowledgeable mining engineer who had worked all over the world.
I've posted the same shot with different processing as an extra - I thought my main high contrast one had more gritty impact?
