Derelict Sunday - Coal Wagon

We went to Beamish today and met with our daughter, husband and granddaughter.

We left at 8:30 and it was foggy most of the way - and we had a huge diversion as the A1 was closed. That particularly annoyed me as it wasn't on the Traffic England website  - and it was obviously a planned closure as all the signs were up for the diversion.

Arrived at 10 and the sun came out. Coffee and cake was the first port of call. We had lovely day - it was very warm. Fish and chips for lunch was most welcome.

Photo is from the coal mine area of the museum and shows the derelict coal wagon run for the spoil heap. Lots of rust and dereliction in the background too! Dandelions growing in the wagon is a bonus!

We left just before 5, the A1 was still closed so we had to return via the diversion - still no mention of the closure on Traffic England!

Thanks to serpentine for hosting the DS challenge

Home by 6:45 - bottle of wine opened and breathing - well what is left is breathing!

A terrific day!
