Dog Years

Evening all,

Well is the onset of summer linked with the commencement of the Thurgoland village fete?

Certainly the hoardes of lobster pink children and adults staggering around behind a float, tongues out, throat parched would suggest so, as would the long lines of slightly grumpy families overwhelming the ice cream van, and the unusually large queues waiting to pay money to have wet sponges thrown at them.

Lots of displays in the main field, dance troupes toiling in the heat, children misunderstanding the dance around maypole routine and tying themselves in multi coloured fugi knots, and an understrength karate team who gave up on their display and introduced a new variation.

Set the dog on the hoodie....

thats a new one on us yokels, we now know that if you walk around with a rolled up jumper on your arm,carry an old fashioned handbag and brandish a plastic water pistol, you will be eaten by a large dog.

I didn't let on i'm not from Thurgoland, could've been me next!!
