Life through the lens...

What time is it?

I liked the raindrops on this dandilions clock, and how one of the tiny seeds was just blowing away with the wind. Tiny Tuesday sorted.

A disappointing morning.
We went over to the asparagus farm to find it closed.
Think it is up for sale. The farmer was getting on a bit, and we thought last year it might be the last.
We then went to Naburn locks for a walk along the river, but it started raining, and I had forgotten my coat, so had to quickly return to the car.

However last night!s sherry and tapas tasting turned out to be a fantastic evening.
This was the menu.

Starter:
Olive, piquillo pepper and boquerones skewers paired with. Antonio Barbadillo Manzanilla Sherry.

Mains:
Samphire pan fried with chilli oil with fennel aioli.
Paired with En Rama 2016 Fino sherry.

Fillet of Seabass with a chickpea salad.
Paired with. Vina AB Amontillado sherry.
( this was my favourite main course)

Strips of steak pan fried with roasted cherry tomatoes, black pepper, port & balsamic.
Paired with Leonard Palo Cortado sherry.

Dessert:
Salt chocolate delice with coffee mousse & pistachio crackling.
Paired with Nectar PX sherry. WOW!!!

If you are in Leeds do try Ambiente. By the river, in The Calls area.
Lovely people. Great food, and you don't have to have a sherry, but try one. You might be surprised. I was. Liked them all, from the very dry to the last one which was so rich. Like Christmas cake in a glass. Served cold it went perfectly with the soooooo very rich chocolate dessert.
Glad we got a taxi home!! Just managed to get up stairs and fall into bed.
A night we all enjoyed, and the lovely balmy evening, looking out over the river as Leeds began to light up was magical too.
