Full Steam Ahead

Rain overnight and this morning helped us decide to go to Porthmadog twenty miles down the coast.

As we drove along we listened to a brilliant programme on BBC Radio 4 about one day in May 1966 when two records were released simultaneously that changed pop music
forever.

Bob Dylan's Blonde on Blonde and Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys,( really it was all down to Brian Wilson) l nearly thought we would have to pull over as Mr P had tears in his eyes. Without those two albums it is hard to imagine what popular music would have turned out like , such were their influence. Do try and catch it on I player if such things interest you.

First a quick supermarket shop, then to buy some bedding plants to fill the containers so they will be in full bloom for our next visit.

By now it had stopped raining so we walked up the high street to our favourite bakers to buy two homity pies and and a whole wheat sourdough loaf which on return l realised l had left in the whole food shop we called into next! Bit of a long journey to go back for it.

Instead of returning back down the high street we heard a train whistle and l managed to get this shot of this train pulling out of the station.
