American Widgeon

Went to the Prescott Mill wetland looking for two birds, American widgeon and least sandpiper. There has been a lot of rain the past day, and with mud flats covered with rising water the sandpipers and other shorebirds have flown to parts unknown. One American widgeon duck (formerly called baldpate for obvious reasons) was present. This duck is another short term visitor migrating north for the summer.
