Little Grebe

I managed to catch this little grebe / dabchick just resting in the water while it waited for its mate.  Once its partner turned up, thy both dashed into the margin where they presumably have a nest.

At the opposite end of the loch, the great-crested grebes were still nesting. It looked like one was sitting while the other was standing guard just off the shore.

I managed good images of both species, but since I blipped the larger ones just 4 days ago, I am making the little grebe my main blip and putting the great-crested one in as an 'extra'.
