Everything sorted...............

…………..Except me!  Today I have had a lot of extra walks and today I found mud. Yay!

Ann was very a little bit angry with me.  She said, ‘Molly, when we get back to the flat there will be a 'skip' there and I might just throw you in it.’

I knew she didn’t mean it?!  I love wallowing in mud like a hippo!  And do you know what?..............  Because I was so muddy, I had to have another walk near some clean water so I got to go wallowing again.  Yay!!!

Re the big Edinburgh flat refurbishment……………..

Don’t you just love it when everything comes together?!  With the right people, the big Edinburgh flat refurbishment is not a nightmare.  And we really do think we have found the right people.  It has been a very stressful few months but Andy & his gang are fabulous.  Every single one of them.  How we wish we’d found these people in January because by now the refurbishment would have been completed and we could have controlled it all from Cornwall.  Huge thanks have to go to ‘very lovely architect’ for recommending them.  Oh well, I guess you live and learn.  Life is too short for regrets and we are having a nice time in Edinburgh.

Today the guys have emptied the flat of everything that they ripped out yesterday.  They have filled a 'skip' which is being collected tomorrow.  A new skip has been ordered for Monday and apparently by Monday evening the wall between the kitchen/living room will have been knocked down.  How super speedy are they?

The only reason they’re not coming back until Monday is; we are living here until the weekend because Ann’s social life dictates what we do and we need water & electricity.  Otherwise, they’d be cracking on tomorrow.

We’ve put notes through all the neighbours letter boxes informing them that a refurb will be taking place and apologising for any noise in advance.  Andy was very insistent that we did this and even told Ann to include his phone number in case anyone had a problem.  Ann told Andy, that her friend Iain would be checking on the work from time to time and Andy asked for Iain’s number so he could phone and introduce himself.  What a difference from ‘Cowboy builders’ who refused  to copy Iain into any emails and only did so when they wanted to get into the flat.  Soooo, soooo, soooo, love these guys.

Even the neighbours already love them.  Apparently when they were filling up the skip various people asked if they could chuck stuff in, so I’m paying for the neighbours to get rid of their rubbish??? and as soon as the internal doors went in; they were taken out??!!  Downstairs neighbours came up and introduced themselves ‘cos they’ve just moved in and need to do a bit of refurb and wanted to find out what we were up to.

So it would seem that everything is sorted.  Yay!

Onwards & upwards.
