It's the final countdown ....

Less than a week to go now to Norwich Pride! Yesterday saw the setting up and launch of the 'Pride without Prejudice' art exhibition at St Margaret's church of art on St Benedicts organised by Art of Norwich in association with Norwich Pride.

Over 20 artists are exhibiting a range of artworks including painting, ceramics, photography. Some are very well established working artists, others have never exhbited before and others are like me - starting out and slowly, steadily becoming comfortable in their artistic skin.

The launch party was such good fun - lots of people turned up, there was a very nice atmosphere (there is always a lovely atmosphere at Pride events), a couple of musicians played and we had poetry from Vince Laws and Trudy Howson. They both perform individually but sometimes together as 'The Outlaws'.

The Pride shop was set up, and there was a raffle to raise funds for Norwich Pride.

The three lovelies in this photo, from left to right are: Vince Laws - Pride Poet Laureate and artist; Shelly Telly - so called because she's called Michelle and is a community film maker - who is on the Pride Collective and among many other things coordinates the Pride merchandise; and Stevie who is the driving force behind the Sew Gay craft group who stitched the Norwich Pride banner. Shell and Stevie also sing in the Pride choir with me.

There are lots of links I could put in here but as I've got another busy day ahead - and the sun has definitely got his hat on - I'm going to skip off.

Oh, and there was a piece in the local paper about my 'Celebration of Pride' exhibition at Marzano! And I sold a few greeting cards at St Margaret's last night ;-)
