Copper Beech

I thought these backlit copper beech leaves looked rather resplendent in the late afternoon sunshine. One might have thought by its colours, it was an autumnal shot but it is young spring growth that allows the translucency and autumnal copper beech leaves would have totally blocked the backlit light. I never realised before that these leaves had slightly hairy edges
