The Royal Southampton Yacht Club has installed defibrillators at the entrance to both its clubhouses – in Ocean Village, Southampton and at Gins on the Beaulieu River, thanks to a successful application to the British Heart Foundation by the RSYC.
They are in bright yellow unlocked cabinets by the front entrance steps to Ocean Village and next to the front door at Gins.
The idea is that they can be used in an emergency by staff, club members or anyone to provide urgent assistance to victims suffering cardiac arrest until paramedics arrive.

Full easy to follow instructions are with the equipment, and the club says it will be providing training for its members, staff and others.
