A Meandering Life...

Cruise :: Day 11 :: Five Fingers

We spent most of the day anchored in Port Houghton, a bay opposite the Five Fingers Islands in Stephens Passage. Five Fingers has a whale counting station so we knew there would be plenty of changes of seeing some.

After dinner we headed past the watch station and true enough the whales started to show. I stayed on deck most of the evening watching then swim around us. These are mainly humpback whales. Sea lions and seals also put in an appearance.

This shot was taken late in the evening, not the best of qualities but captures the mood of the day. Tomorrow we will be visiting a glacier.
