NEW LIFE.

Left in light rain this morning for the canal and was pleasantly surprised to see my sign was still there even after all the rain last night. The swans were not there, but I found them about a mile up the canal -  all seven of them (see extra). I walked on for about another mile and a half then turned to come home, and came across these little ducklings, the first I have seen.
However I then caught up with the swan family and was dismayed to see only six babies. A friend told me that they have see a mink in that area. Hope they get back to the nest before any more disappear.
Rain here all day sometimes very heavy. I may be short on comments tonight, but I will try as I have a friend coming around for the evening.
