Towhee

Sometimes called the "Drink your tea" bird because that's what his call sounds like, the towhee is a beautiful bird. As I was looking through some old pictures tonight, I noticed quite a few towhee shots taken in the winter of 2014. Strangely enough, I didn't see any around here this winter and haven't seen very many so far this spring. I've blipped him before but was still delighted to get another chance to post his picture.

Today's extra is a house wren, another of my favorites. However, these tiny birds are fiercely territorial and known to destroy the eggs of bluebirds and other cavity nesting birds. So, pretty little birds, but maybe not so nice?
