Don't look now...................

Meet Pikey.
C found Pikey some time ago in the middle a field not far far from here. The filed is next to the river, but Pikey was some way from the river bank.
C thinks that maybe a mink killed the pike, and that later floods left its body stranded in the field.
There was no flesh on it at all when C found it, so he returned home for a bag and went back to collect it in order to show our grandsons when they come over here in August. Unfortunately he then lost it - as you do with pike heads.
Today we cleared out the shed where all of the weedkiller, fertiliser, garden tools etc are kept, and there in its bag, was Pikey, tucked away behind the fertiliser. He's now been placed in a box ready for our grandsons.
I've put a two pence piece next to it to show how large it is. The teeth are massive. For what is only a small river, the pike is an amazing size.
In other news - we have broadband again! BT man came this afternoon, and it is now 80 times faster than it was this morning. Evidently someone had changed our settings in the BT cabinet up the road.
