National Velvet

And they're off!!
We had a few things to do in Stratford this afternoon, so decided to take our boys (doggy boys) and have a walk along the old disused railway track called "The Greenway" afterwards. The Greenway runs for several miles, and the first quarter of a mile or so is alongside Stratford Race Course. We noticed on our way off that there were lots of preparations going on, and C said that he though he'd heard a mention of there being an evening race meet today.
After about 2 1/2 miles we turned to walk back towards Stratford again, and when we reached the race course, we could see that the stands were by now pretty full and could see the horses in the distance so decided to hang around for a few minutes.
Then they were off! We could hear the hooves thundering towards us, and we had a much better than grand-stand view as we were only yards from some of the jumps.
C has some great shots of one of the jockeys as he slipped from his horse to land on the ground (thankfully uninjured). C has yet to sort his pictures out, but when he does I'll put a link on to his.
Update: here's his photo of the dismounting
I've suddenly decided to change the title of my Blip and enter into the Film Star Friday Challenge set by Beewriter.
