Prothonotary Warbler

Wendy (wrperry) and I went to Mckee-Beshers Wildlife Management area this morning and encountered many excited bird-watchers who had heard there was an Alder Flycatcher about, as well as some nesting Prothonotary Warblers.  We never did see the Flycatcher but were lucky enough to see one of the Warblers, pictured here singing his heart out.  We also saw Indigo Buntings and a Common Yellowthroat. It was so wonderful to get outdoors and enjoy the fresh air and eventually a little sunshine.  We need to enjoy it while it lasts, we are expecting a complete washout for the weekend.

Many thanks for all the hearts, stars, and comments yesterday, that have catapulted my butterfly with the eyeballs to the top row of Page One.  They are greatly appreciated.
