In the King's Bath

I stepped inside a King's bath today. It was the bath house of King Edward I built in the late 13th century at the moat level of Leeds Castle.

Such a privilege to don the wellies and see the stoneworks and sheer scale of the structure before its refilled in a few days.

Hard to imagine the King and his queen Eleanor bathing in there with servants running back and forth with water warmed on the fire, linens draped over the wooden bath tub and a sponge for the queen to sit on! Such opulence!

Day 3 of 5 of filming and all is going well albeit hectic and knackering. I am lucky to have a wonderful team of colleagues helping the complicated schedule run smoothly.
