Penguin Droppings

An Easy Blip.

After driving and walking many miles in my quest for butterflies the last couple of weeks,  they decided to tease me by turning up in my garden.

Not just one, but a pair of orange-tips were flitting about the flowers. The male landed on honesty on one side while the female landed on columbine on the other side.  Neither kept their wings fully open.

Fortunately, this female shut right down.  In this species, that is when they depend fully on their camouflage and you can then get the camera lens within an inch of them without them flying off.
