Derelict Tree

This poor white pine tree has been hit by a few misfortunes I'd say.  I live on an unpaved road off of an unpaved road (it's quiet though) and they seem to be making the first road wider (it needs it) - hoping this tree is up for the pruning as it seems to have given all it could in a Giving Tree kind of way.  If you're not familiar with the plot, check it out in Wikipedia under Plot Summary.  Really a lovely children's book which apparently is turning 52 this year!!
