Shelduck & Greylag Geese

I had to take a different route this morning on my morning walk with the dogs, as the bridge over Bielwater was closed. For the third night in succession this week a vandal has broken some of the wooden stays of the bridge creating gaps in the flooring. The wooden stays are quite thick and would require of lever of some sort in order to break them so this vandal is quite persistent and organised. Twice the council have already replaced the broken stays. Apart from feeling quite angry with unknown bridge wrecker, I can't imagine what sort of grievance he might have to vent his spleen in this way.

However, it was quite pleasant to take a different route and go over the bridge to nowhere onto the beach, though the dogs are a bit wary of the metal grille-type flooring of the bridge to nowhere. There were a number of birds out on the muddier parts of the beach. This female shelduck was very much on there own but the greylag geese in the background were a small group of maybe up to a dozen birds.
