Recounting Kings and Queens

Memorising the order of reign and correct number of various Kings and Queens is all part of the day job as a Castle PR.

Not only do historical presenters, film researchers and journalists expect me to know 900 years of history but they expect me to prompt them if they get muddled when working on a script, news story or editorial piece.

This handy wooden ruler shows the chronology of English Kings and Queens from the very first Monarch to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Leeds Castle ownership sat in royal hands from the 12th Century through to Edward VI - when it passed to a servant as a way of thanks for serving Henry VIII during the uprising in Ireland - so it's the early medieval kings, but mainly queens, that I have to know.

This ruler made it's way to my desk today and seemed the perfect blip for this week's mono Monday theme of Numbers. Thanks to Nickimags888 for this week's challenge.
