Bougainvillea Bakery

Sitting on the pavement, having a beer, saw this amazing bougainvillea, so went down the alley to investigate, and saw a small bakery selling pastries - called tentatively, then louder, but no response. Ended up asking at the bar, whereupon a lad jumped up from watching the tele, saying he hadn't seen me go in. A euro each and absolute heaven - flaky pastry, with an almond and pine nut filling.

Another session of the Universidade Senior - a local author talking about the books he's written - such an entertaining character. He said he spends less than 1% of his time writing the books and over 99% selling them - and they are really rather good; he's sold over 5000 copies of one of his children's books. But such is life for a Portuguese author.
