North Norfolk Bird Fair

M, B and I spent the day at the North Norfolk Bird Fair at Mannington Gardens.  This is one of the bird ringers from the British Trust for Ornithology, checking to see if this greenfinch is male or female.  This is done by blowing onto the chest feathers. On female birds, the feathers will part to reveal bare skin which is the 'brood patch' this is to allow the body heat from the female to transfer onto the incubating eggs. The extras are a view of the wooded walk and a rather comical looking alpaca.
