Raz on the 'piazz'

Front and center enjoying front porch napping in the spring heat this morning. She's fond of the piazza for chipmunk watching as well. No sign of Fyra, my ancient tame chipmunk. I'm afraid she may have passed on in her underground castle of peanuts this past winter :(

Kalle is busy sitting at our kitchen island with his laptop. He's editing the website for the Draken Harald Hårfagre, the present day viking ship expedition, America 2016. He's waiting on orders to join colleagues who are also supporting the publicity and supply end of the expedition. The ship, now in Greenland will set sail soon for NewFoundland to begin it's inland route. The longship will be sailing via the St. Lawrence Seaway and Great Lakes with stops in Canadian and American cities, ending in Duluth, Minnesota. The ship will then retrace that route back, via the New York State Canals to Mystic Seaport, Connecticut for over wintering. Kalle will be in North America for nearly 5 months. We hope to see him again during the expedition, perhaps in New York and Mystic CT. He will be with us at Dogcorner again as well before he goes home to Sweden where he lives on a houseboat in Göteborg.

This day came in cool, but the temperature is rising as the sun and west wind bring on summe-like heat.
