Sock Stalemate

Ben is in the middle of AS exams.  He's working hard.  

His (very expensive) socks have holes in them sooooo big that - I think that they should be chucked in the bin.

I want him to replace them (and pay) but he is unwilling to even think about it as he's prioritising geography/chemistry/maths/biology.  He'd rather wear these than discuss it!
