Life in Sunny Dubai

Fine Dining on Dubai Creek

The weekend has begun - YAY!!  And I got paid.

So more reason to celebrate. The Bateaux Dubai have a promotion to the end of May which is offering their cruise for nearly half price, so G & I decided to go for it.

This is such an amazing experiencing. Real fine dining as you have a 2 1/2 hour cruise. All the food is freshly prepared on the boat and brought to you, so no getting up for a buffet. Five courses - starting with canapés and then a soup, and because the boat is so much closer to the water than a dhow, you really feel a connection to everything around you.

The sharp-eyed among you may notice the baby grand piano. Our table was next to the musician who was brilliant with a very wide repertoire. A really great way to start the weekend, and the temperatures dropping slightly made it perfect.

We got off and couldn't help noticing that even at 11pm, the moon was stilll very low in the sky. It was huge, and yellow, so we decided to drive towards it - Eastwards. We ended up near the airport, on the flight path. G thought an A380 was going to land right on us at one point. We then came upon a road that was perfect to pull over to do more plane spotting. I wasn't able to get a decent shot though with the camera I had, so another time for that...
